Dear Parent/Guardian                                                                  April 28, 2017

I hope that everyone enjoyed their April vacation.  Between now and the end of the school year, approximately 32 days, the days will fly by. Mrs. Batson is already starting to prepare for the Hokey Pokey Fair. The last day of school is currently June 16th, which would be a half day.

Fifth grade has the opportunity to go to the Shrine Circus tomorrow. Every year all of the fifth grades are given tickets, for free, to attend the circus. Fifth grade students are welcome to go. They will need to be at the elementary school at 7AM to catch the bus. Thank you to Kathy Francis for agreeing , again, to accompany the students.

Thank you so much to the Masonic Association for gifting 12 bikes to our students. All they had to do was read, and have the luck of the draw. We had some very excited students.

The sixth graders visited the middle school this week. They came back very excited and talked about the awesome time they had. We as a school wish them all the best in their middle/high school years.

As a staff, we would like to invite all of our CES families to celebrate the success of your students. We will be having a “Spring Celebration” on May 31st from 5-7PM. We will be having a cookout and displays of students’ success throughout the school.

Next week, May 1-5, is Teacher Appreciation Week. Your student has a letter from the PTO with plans to help celebrate your students school staff. Please participate. Your students’ teachers and support staff work tirelessly to ensure that your student is successful.

The PTO is also sponsoring “teacher’s caught being good.” Students are able to fill out a form if they catch their teacher “being good” and the teachers name will be put in for a drawing for a prize.

Colin Brown, from Downeast Lakes Land Trust will be starting a weekly nature club on Tuesday, May 2, for grades 4-6 from 2:30-3:30. This will be a weekly club and parents have to pick their student up at 3:30. This is a privilege so we expect students to be on their best behavior.

Middle School tennis is staring on Tuesday, May 2nd. This is open to 6th graders. If your student is interested, they will need to meet at the tennis courts at 2:30. There is a $25 fee. If this fee is a hardship, please let the office know

A reminder that Wednesday, May 3rd will be a half day. School will be dismissed at 11 AM.

Thank you for your commitment to our school and students. Have a great weekend.

Thank you

Sue Carter
