Dear Parent/Guardian                                                                        March 24, 2017

There will be a free dental clinic from April 3-8 in Machias. Free dental work will be provided. There is an information sheet attached.

March is youth art month and to celebrate the Eastport Art Center will be holding its annual student art exhibit from March 25th through April 7th. Students from CES whose art will be displayed are; Owen Chen, Lucas Bowen, Mikah Smith, Jayden Fitzsimmons, Karli Horch, Jacob Moses, and Joshua Cline. There will be a reception on Saturday March 25th from 2-4PM. Everyone is invited.

The CMS/CHS student council has asked us to help them raise money for the food pantry which part of their Hunger Games activity. They have asked the elementary school students  to collect non-perishable foods and would  like this to be a competition between  classes with  an ice cream sundae party with the student council students for the winning class.  Students can also get up to three tickets for the hockey pokey fair for the first three food items they bring in. (We will keep the tickets until the fair).

A reminder that the Character Parade is next Friday, March 31st at 9 AM. It is also a half day. Students are required to attend half days and are not excused from school because it is a half day. Dismissal is at 11. We will be offering after school services until 5:30PM as usual. This is also the day that grades close.

We are SUPER EXCITED to report that we exceeded our goal in collecting for Pennies for Patience. Our grand total was $1708.06 and our goal was $1500.

Mrs. James class raised the most money with $245 and Mrs. Donovan class was second with $229.

If you received a survey from Special Education, you are encouraged to fill this out. They are looking forward to getting your feedback.

Thank you for your commitment to our school and students. Have a great weekend.

Sue Carter
