Dear Parent/Guardian December 9, 2016
The Polar Express/Frozen was a HUGE success. Thank you to all of the staff, student and parent volunteers. Thank you to Buck Wartman who, despite a family emergency, completed making and painting the sleighs as well as volunteered for the evening. Thank you to our CES custodians for their help and tolerance, and most of all, thank you to Brenda Batson who is the creator, director, and brains behind the operation. The evening raised over $1100 which will be used to replace books in our CES library.
Our Christmas concert will be December 19th right here at CES. We have split the concert in half this year. This is an effort to avoid the difficulty of trying to have our younger students and their families staying for the entire concert so they do not disrupt the older students’ performances. Grades K-2, will perform from 5:30-6:15 and grades 3-6 will perform 6:45-7:30. This time will allow for the families of the younger students to leave the parking area before the older ones start to arrive. We are asking parents to have their students here 15 minutes early and to remain for the entire concert.
There are no more slots for Bouncing Blue Devils. If your student is not yet signed up for the program, they are not going to be able to participate.
Another reminder about the cold weather and the importance of ensuring that your student is dressed appropriately. If your student is in need of winter clothing, please let us know and we will work to get them appropriate clothes.
Attached will you find a letter from Mrs. Clark regarding lice. On the back of the letter you will find directions for treatment if your child comes home with head lice.
CES is selling candy grams for $0.50 each. We have attached an order form and we have plenty more at the office.
We also have attached a flier for Calais Food for Thought. This Saturday from 10AM-noon there will be a Kids Christmas Festival. There will be opportunities for kids to buy gifts for $0.25, to make crafts, and most importantly, to get free coats, hats and mittens.
Thank you for your commitment to our school and students. Have a great weekend.
Thank you, Sue Carter
