CALAIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

53 GARFIELD ST. CALAIS MAINE

3-4-16

Dear parent/guardian,

Just a reminder that on Saturday from 2-4 the Eastport Arts Center will be holding its annual Student Art Exhibit.  We have several students from CES who will have their art work displayed.

We are having a BOXTOP contest from February 3rd to March 31st. The student that brings in the most will be given a prize and the top two classes will also be rewarded with a prize. Last year we received over $1000 from Boxtops. We use the money to purchase supplies for the school and the library. Mrs., Marshall’s class is in the lead.

We are SUPER EXCITED that on Monday we have Children’s Stage Adventure coming. This is an organization that spends a week working with students, (at CES),  to practice/perfect a play which they will perform Friday afternoon for the students, and Friday night for family and community. A reminder to all students who wish to try out to have your permission slips signed and returned to school Monday morning, if you have mot already. For those interested, the show will be Friday night at 6PM, right her at CES.

The “Pennies For Patients” campaign is kicking of Monday. Schools and Students collect money to help find cures for blood cancers. For more information you can check out the school web site, ces.calaisschools.org. You will find videos and have an opportunity to make donations on line if you wish.

While at our web site, spend some time exploring to see what information you can find there on a regular basis.

Today, we had the kick off for the PTO read a thon.  The envelopes will be coming home with students today. The books that the students read can be used both for the read a thon, and bikes for books.  So, read, read, read.

A reminder that Friday, March 18th is a half day.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Sue Carter                                                                                                                                                                                                       CES/CDTP principal
